Sara Grippo is a passionate climber and a Hatha Yoga instructor.
For Rock Master, she has created an exclusive yoga session tailored to the needs of climbers.
Hatha Yoga is one of the most well-known and widely practised styles of yoga, and the foundation from which many modern approaches have developed. The word “hatha” combines “ha” (sun) and “tha” (moon), symbolising balance between opposites: strength and flexibility, activity and relaxation.
This style of yoga combines asana (physical postures that build strength, balance and mobility), pranayama (breathing techniques to develop awareness and control of the breath), relaxation and meditation – all to calm the mind and increase focus.
Hatha Yoga is especially beneficial for climbers because it works on key aspects of performance on the wall:
Comfortable clothing, yoga mat, water
Just show up at 10:00 at the Yoga Garden. The session lasts around one to one and a half hours.
The space dedicated to yoga for climbers is just a short walk from the Climbing Village. Follow the signs along Via Caproni Maini: right after Hotel Garden, on the right-hand side, you’ll find the entrance to the Yoga Garden.
